Pre-season priority

Do not panic-spend ordinary resources trying to manufacture “Season 3 power” before the seasonal systems exist. Enter Day 1 with stamina, radar flexibility, active builders, a clear profession plan and an alliance decision about who will lead Curse Resistance rallies.

The seven things to do before Season 3 opens

  1. Finish essential ordinary upgrades. Complete the Headquarters, Technology Centre, Barracks and hospital work that would otherwise occupy builders during the opening seasonal rush.
  2. Keep stamina available. First kills, seasonal enemies and map activity create early Mithril and Sacred Water opportunities. Avoid entering Day 1 completely empty.
  3. Keep radar tasks flexible. Complete the tasks required by the current event, but avoid unnecessary collection immediately before the seasonal reset if your live radar screen allows rewards to be retained.
  4. Prepare one reliable march. The first week rewards a developed main formation more than five unfinished experiments. Check hero level, skills, gear and troop capacity now.
  5. Agree the alliance resistance leader. A highly active member should rush Curse Resistance and be available to lead early Digging Stronghold rallies.
  6. Choose professions deliberately. Engineer supports rapid account and seasonal-building development; War Leader should be chosen for a defined alliance combat role rather than from habit.
  7. Make communication simple. Publish capture times, rally leadership, stronghold targets and the policy for seasonal-resource spending before the map becomes busy.

What can genuinely be saved

There is no universal “save everything” rule. Normal resources remain valuable, but most Season 3 progress comes from new seasonal resources that do not exist until the season opens. Prepare the items that create activity and flexibility rather than delaying every useful account upgrade.

Item or capacity Pre-season approach Grund
Stamina Enter Day 1 with a healthy reserve and claim free stamina normally. Seasonal first kills and map targets provide early progression opportunities.
Radar tasks Retain only what the current live radar system safely permits. Season 3 Desert Ruins can provide Mithril, but forcing a stack must not cost expiring rewards.
Universal speed-ups Protect a useful reserve. Season buildings use their own resources, while ordinary construction and research still compete for time.
Legend Returns recruitment Check the live event rules before spending any retained recruitment currency. Official support lists Legend Returns as a possible source of Sacred Water and Mithril during Season 3.
Diamonds Keep an emergency reserve. Useful for stamina, relocations or high-value season opportunities; do not assign them before seeing the live offers.
Troops and healing capacity Train sensibly and clear avoidable hospital congestion. Season combat and later Protector conversion need a functioning troop economy, not a pre-season hospital crisis.

Do not look for Mithril or Sacred Water yet

The official Season 3 resource system introduces Mithril, Heiliges Wasser und Gewürze. They are not ordinary resources you can meaningfully pre-farm before the seasonal systems open.

  • Mithril upgrades Blessing Fountains and other key seasonal buildings.
  • Segensbrunnen produce Sacred Water.
  • Heiliges Wasser upgrades seasonal buildings and raises Curse Resistance through the Curse Research Lab.
  • Gewürze develop the Alliance Center and determine important alliance progress and settlement ranking.

Your pre-season advantage therefore comes from being able to act quickly once these resources appear—not from hoarding imaginary seasonal stock beforehand.

Prepare the Day 1 building loop

The opening economy is a chain. Mithril goes into Blessing Fountains; the Fountains generate Sacred Water; Sacred Water advances the Curse Research Lab; resistance unlocks harder seasonal content; that content returns more resources.

Opening rule: production first, resistance second, optional seasonal projects only after the economy is moving.

Official support explains that Season 3 can provide up to five Blessing Fountains. New Fountains unlock through level-15 Fountain milestones. Follow the actual unlock instruction shown on your live server; do not assume that every Fountain is available immediately.

Segensbrunnen: invest Mithril here to begin Sacred Water production. Build the production engine before chasing optional projects.

Fluchforschungslabor spend the Sacred Water produced by your Fountains to raise Curse Resistance and reach tougher seasonal targets.

Choose the resistance leader before the first rally

Earlier Season 3 servers commonly used one highly active player to advance the Curse Research Lab quickly and lead resistance-gated rallies. The exact rally behaviour must be verified on the current live battle screen, but choosing the candidate beforehand prevents confused early attacks.

Requirement Why it matters
High daily availability The leader must be online during planned Stronghold capture windows.
Strong main march Resistance does not replace heroes, troops, gear and ordinary combat development.
Willingness to prioritise the Lab Diverting early seasonal resources into optional projects delays alliance access to harder targets.
Clear R4 communication Members need to know whose rallies to join and when not to launch competing attempts.

Engineer or War Leader?

Do not promise that every player must use the same profession. The best choice depends on account strength and alliance assignment.

  • Engineer: normally the safest opening choice for players focused on building speed, research efficiency, resource production and steady seasonal development.
  • War Leader: appropriate for commanders assigned to major combat, rallies and organised seasonal warfare who can use the combat skills consistently.
  • Leadership decision: an alliance needs enough development support and enough combat leadership. R4 should plan the mix rather than allowing everyone to copy the same build.

Profession names, reset costs and skill effects can change. Read every live skill description before committing points.

Prepare for Desert Protectors—but do not create losses deliberately

Official support confirms that some troops killed beyond normal hospital or Emergency Center handling can enter a conversion pool and become Desert Protectors after alliance assistance. Protectors are powerful seasonal units, but they disappear after participating in battle and cannot be healed or reused like ordinary soldiers.

This does not justify careless pre-season troop losses. Protector conversion is a Season 3 mechanic, and the correct conversion conditions must be visible in-game before anyone sacrifices troops. Prepare alliance help activity and hospital capacity; do not manufacture deaths before the feature is live.

R4 pre-season checklist

  • Name the proposed Curse Resistance leader and at least one backup.
  • Confirm the first-day online window and voice/chat channel.
  • Identify which members are expected to begin as Engineer and which have a defined War Leader role.
  • Set the rule for who may start Digging Stronghold rallies.
  • Publish the first city and Stronghold priorities when the seasonal map becomes visible.
  • Explain that Spices belong to alliance progression, not individual improvisation.
  • Ask members to post screenshots whenever their live season wording differs from this guide.

Day 1 opening order

  1. Open every Season 3 introduction and inspect the live rules before spending.
  2. Claim available seasonal tasks, first-kill rewards and resource opportunities.
  3. Begin the Blessing Fountain production chain.
  4. Advance the Curse Research Lab with the Sacred Water produced.
  5. Follow the alliance’s designated rally leader and target schedule.
  6. Help Protector conversions whenever alliance assistance appears.
  7. Record the resistance requirements and rewards visible on the live server so alliance guidance can be updated from real evidence.

Common pre-season mistakes

  • Spending all stamina the night before the season begins.
  • Leaving builders trapped behind low-value ordinary upgrades.
  • Assuming normal power can overcome a large Curse Resistance deficit.
  • Allowing several players to launch uncoordinated Stronghold rallies.
  • Upgrading optional seasonal buildings before Sacred Water production and resistance are established.
  • Copying exact costs or schedules from an older server without checking the current live season.
  • Deliberately killing troops before Protector conversion is confirmed live.
